Interscholastic Riding

Mon Valley Equestrian Team

Riders on the Mon Valley Equestrian Team compete against other equestrians in Zone 2 (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania) and the entire nation.  Instead of bringing their own horses to the shows, riders compete on unknown horses provided by the hosting team.  Horses are assigned randomly to riders, insuring that the competition is a true test of riding skills.  Classes are judged on hunt seat equitation, both on the flat (walk, trot and canter) and over fences (crossrails through 2'6").  We compete at 9-11 shows per season, with the aim being to qualify the team and individual riders for the Zone Finals and National Finals shows. 

Intercollegiate Riding

Washington and Jefferson Equestrian Team

Fallowfield is home to the Washington and Jefferson Equestrian Team.  W & J riders compete in a format very similar to the interscholastic team riders, showing on an unfamiliar horse over fences or on the flat.  One of the best things about intercollegiate riding is that it provides an oppurtunity for students who have never even been on a horse's back to learn about them and find success in the saddle.  If you're interested in joining, you can find more information at their site.
